Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need to be a current member of 91ɬÂþ to submit a READY application?
A: Yes, participation in the READY Program is limited to members of 91ɬÂþ, meaning those who have purchased 91ɬÂþ membership. An education researcher team leader must be a 2025 or 2026 91ɬÂþ member at the time of application, and a 2026 91ɬÂþ member during the 2026 91ɬÂþ Annual Meeting. You can learn more about 91ɬÂþ membership on our website.

Q: Is there any flexibility for the number of youth researcher participants?
A: No. To ensure the most robust experience for READY Programming, teams must have a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 student researchers.

Q: How do I know if my youth research team would be a good fit for the READY program?
A: The READY program is aimed at cultivating the research interests of youth researchers. A team that is comprised of high school students who are using research tools to answer critical questions about education would be a good fit for the READY Program. You can learn about past READY teams and READY projects on our website.

Q: Are international participants eligible to participate in READY?
A: Yes, 91ɬÂþ welcomes international READY teams.

Q: Is READY open to including Middle School youth researchers?
A: No. The READY initiative is an opportunity available only to youth researchers at the high school level. Currently, we do not anticipate expanding the program to include younger students.

Q: Do the youth researchers need to attend the same high school?
A: No, READY teams can comprise high school students from multiple schools.

Q: What funding is provided for accepted READY Teams?
A: The READY Awards include up to $1,000 per team. This award is to help offset the cost of travel to the Annual Meeting for up to six READY youth researcher team members. Travel, registration, and lodging costs for the education researcher(s), or chaperone(s) are not covered by this award. Additional READY award details can be found in the Call for Applications.
