A Public Hearing on the Gordon Commission on the Future of Assessment in Education

Gordon Commission to Hold a Public Hearing at 91ɬ Meeting

The Gordon Commission on the Future of Assessment in K–12 Education is a two-year study group whose members are thought leaders and innovators in academia, research, and policy. Its goal is to harness emerging developments in the pedagogical, cognitive, and technological sciences to improve K–12 educational assessment, now and into the mid-21st century. Its mission is to analyze the best assessment practices and our nation’s current and future educational needs, and to generate recommendations that will improve pedagogical practice, educational measurement, and student achievement.

The public hearing aims to provide participants with the opportunity to (1) interact with the commission, (2) become familiar with the perspectives of its members, (3) learn about how best to work with the commission, and (4) seek perspectives and viewpoints from the education research community.
